"My Menopause Story"

In many ways entering into Menopause took me by
surprise. Like many women in our “Baby Boomer” generation I
waited until my late 30’s to have a child, so I was so caught up in
the joys of motherhood, it never occurred to me that Menopause was
just around the corner. As a matter of fact, I think that having
given birth at age 37 for the first time actually set me up for
moving into Menopause earlier than would have been the case had I
had children earlier in life. Who knew?
I had always had a few days of PMS symptoms before my period: mood
swings, fatigue, bloating, but I began to notice that after the
birth of my son PMS could last as long as two weeks. Not a “good”
thing! And very soon PMS also included night sweats and hot flashes,
so I did some research and realized that I was having Peri Menopause
symptoms.
Then reality began to hit... I was in Menopause in my early 40’s! I wasn’t afraid of Menopause itself as much as I was very concerned
about how it was going to affect my quality of life and ability to
be a good mother. I was concerned because I remembered how difficult
Menopause was for my mother. She had hot flashes and mood swings for
what seemed like forever, and I did not want that to be my
experience. I was having so much fun living a second childhood being
with my son and I had so much more life to live to the full.
One reason my mother suffered with Menopause is because she refused
to take HRT, hormone
replacement therapy. She did not believe in it, but she did
not know that there were natural products, herbs and vitamins, that
she could use to help alleviate her symptoms.
Like my mother, I had a gut feeling that taking hormone
replacement therapy was not how I wanted to manage my Menopause.
I had always used natural products, vitamins and herbs, to keep me
in good health and now entering Menopause I started to do my

easily as possible.
Now I am in Post Menopause.
I have arrived here in good health having managed my Menopause
